Blog About It

Hey Loves,

I am so in love with this mermaid skirt
I scored for H&M a few months ago. I love the versatility of dressing
down piece that would be considered dressy. Although I could
have opted for a silk top or something that would of made
the look more suitable for a party, I choose this cute tee with a denim jacket
(you can never go wrong with denim).

I hope you guys like the look!!!

Until next time.

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO

Varsity Blues

Hey Loves,

It's been a while since my last post but
I'm just trying to get used to juggling everything I have going
on in my life. Finding a way to be consistent is the
hardest part of life because I've realized that in order to grow in anything,
consistency is key!

When you plant a seed in order for it to grow
you have to nourish it and water it frequently but in order to do that.....
it has to become a habit. With that being said I'm working on
balancing things and being more consistent
but it's not happening over night.

Enough about the boring stuff lets get to this outfit.
I stubbled upon this jacket one day while shopping for an event
I had and as soon as I saw it I fell in love and
had to have it. It was the only one in
the store, my size and on sale so you know in my
language that means it was meant
for me.

I love the fact that its a blazer
(which is one of my favorite layering pieces) but the sleeves
are giving me varsity. I love multi functional items because it gives you the
versatility to do so many things with one piece. I have worn
this jack (as seen) with jeans and sneakers as
well as with dress pants as a suit.

Until next time.

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO

Black.....Is The Same Ol' Black

Hey Loves,

As we all know black is a very popular color for a whole lot of
people because of the obvious reason....it goes with everything. There is not
one color that I can think of that can not be matched
with black and it tends to be very sleek, polished and sophisticated
in any fabric or material.

To sum it up, black can be worn with anything, at anytime and anyplace and
let's not leave out the fact that it is very forgiving on the figure and has a very unique slimming
effect. With black being such a powerful color, why is it that every time a
new color becomes the popular for the season, we always try to replace it with black. Hence
the term "(fill in the blank) is the new black?" Nude can not be the new
black nor can red, black is black, nude is nude and red is red.

Although I know the meaning behind this term,
I still want to remember that black is the same ol' black and it will always be.
I have never shied away for color, I think of myself to be very
colorful (although my wardrobe has been lacking it lately. Note to self: girl get
some more color in your closet) but black is always my easy go to color
and makes me feel the most comfortable, most of the time.

So while you guys are picking
up the new colors of the season (buttercup yellow, fiery red, peach and green),
don't forget that black will always serve it's purpose
and will always be black.

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO

Pop of Red

Hey Loves!!
The weather if finally breaking and
I am here for all of it! Right Now I am loving
monochromatic looks and Grey.
I just realized how much grey I actually have and have
decided to move away from it. Although I'm loving
the color I don't need ten grey shirts.

This look that I am sharing with you guys
is very simple. This dress is very comfortable and
can be worn with pants as well as sneakers and flats.
For this look I went with an over the knee boot
and added a body chain to add texture
to the dress.

I added the red clutch to add
character and edge to the look. I totally
love the long string on this bag,
it gives the clutch a different look.

I purchased this jacket years ago from Dress Barn.
It's one of my favorite pieces because
(in my opinion) it is very versatile and can
be worn with almost anything. It also adds definition
to more basic looks.

The perfect outfit is all about details and texture. It's the small things
that count and when I do go shopping I love to buy things that have unique details.
Not everyone is crazy about color (although I am) but that doesn't
mean your outfit has to be boring. An outfit can always be elevated with
the right accents. A T-shirt will look so much better with a zipper down the back.
A little attention to detail can add a lot of character to an outfit.

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO

Pleats and Things

Hey Loves,
Hope all is well and that you guys are having a wonderful week.
Today I want to talk about maximizing your wardrobe. This is something that I
have been doing for a while now and that I think is very necessary.
You don't have to buy new clothes every season to look nice.
The best way to maximize your wardrobe is by finding new and more innovative
ways to wear things that you already have.

Pairing old things with new things is a sure way to create a new outfit.
Ever time I see a new trend it always brings me back to what I have in my closet and how
I can create a look with out breaking the bank. Honestly, I always
find something that is old that has comeback to surface so that's why I am always
reluctant to throw things away.

This top is actually an old dress that I purchases
about 2 or 3 years ago from Forever 21. I've only worn it a few times but
every time I wore it as a shirt because it's too short for my taste. The skirt I just
purchased this year and when I was looking through my closet for an
outfit these two came to wed.

To pull the outfit together I opted for this oversized clutch that I purchased
maybe 5 years ago, nude pumps and statement earrings. I believe the clutch was actually
supposed to be an IPad case or something but that's were the creativity comes in to play.
I love when I can find an item and use it for something else
besides what it was meant for.

A lot of use have different creative talents that can be
used in so many aspect of life. Let your creativity roam into your wardrobe to help create
outfits that will suit your everyday lifestyle. You don't have to go too far outside
of the box. Just find ways to maximize your wardrobe that can help
you utilize what you have while saving time and money.

And always....Remember.....

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO

SEASON'S GREETINGS

Hey Loves!! It's me again.
My absolute favorite time of the year is spring/summer (more summer)
so I usually love to be out doors. Although one would think that
for a fashion lover winter would be more ideal
because you can really showcase your clothing with all the
layering and fly coats and boots but I beg to differ.

I love the simplicity of warmer weather dressing.
Being able to just throw on a dress or jumper is more up my alley.
Every year I anticipate packing my coats away and pulling
out my bright, light, flowy summer pieces.

The biggest misconception with dressing for warmer
weather is that you can't make it fun. This is the perfect time to
hype up your accessories and let them tell the story of your outfit.
Invest in statement necklaces, earrings and arm pieces and and
drama to your outfit by laying them up

So until next time dolls, remember, there's no need to feel that you
can't make your summer wardrobe as dramatic as your winter wardrobe.
Use this season to focus on your accessories and let them shine.
Also, you can do just as much layering as you would during
winter, just opt for more lighter piece and layer on.

Keep it Stylish,

XOXO

TRANSITIONING

Hey Loves! It's that time of year again. The weather is changing but not quite,
making it hard to figure out what to wear. The mornings and nights
are cold while the afternoons are hot but you don't want to over
dress while trying not to underdress.......so confusing and annoying
to say the least. My rule of thumb is layering. I try to wear pieces
that can are light but when paired together can keep me warm.

Bomber jackets are great for this time of year because they will
keep you warm but can look great tied around your waste if it gets too hot.
Although this dress is a mock necked and long sleeve, it's super thin and
can be worn in warm weather because the material is very breathable.

Don't be afraid to still wear your warmer weather accessories like this wool hat.
Yes it is wool but because the weather has not quite hit that
consistent "Spring" weather you can get a couple more weeks out of it.

As you guys know, the right accessories can take an outfit to the next level.
Fringe, body chains and sneakers are my favorite
trend accessories for this season. What is funny to me it that
I have never liked sneakers until now. My closet is about 99% shoes
but this season you will see me exploring the sneaker
trend a little more. Who know what a pair of shell toe Adidas can do to a dress?

Stepping outside of your comfort zone
is good but you still have to find a balance
were you can be comfortable.
Never lose yourself in fashion but always find yourself in style.
Until next time Loves.

Keep It Stylish,

XOXO
